Lucknow: Over 13.43 crore electorate will exercise their franchise in Uttar Pradesh assembly polls which are going to take place on 403 seats in seven phases between February 11 and March 8.

The first phase polling will take place on 73 assembly seats spread over 15 districts on February 11. The second phase polling on 67 seats of 11 districts will take place on February 15. The third phase polling in 69 assembly constituencies of 12 districts will take place on February 19. In the fourth phase polling, 53 constituencies of 12 districts will go to polls on February 23.

In the fifth phase, 52 constituencies of 11 districts will go to polls on February 27 while in the sixth phase, 49 constituencies of 7 districts will have polling on March 8. In the 7th and final phase, 40 constituencies of 7 districts will go to polls on March 8.

The counting of votes will take place on March 11, the Chief Election Commissioner Naseem zaidi announced in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The first phase polling will start with Western Uttar Pradesh districts. In the last 2012 assembly polls too, the elections were conducted in seven phases.
