Tamil Nadu Govt launches cheap cable Internet service

Chennai:Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha has launched fibre-based broadband services starting at Rs 299 per month for a line with 2 Mbps speed and a 2 GB data limit.

It will be provided by Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Ltd (TACTV), a state-owned cable TV and internet service provider.

The bandwidth for the broadband will be provided by Vodafone and the cost of router, installation and modem has to be borne by the customer.
