Taj Mahal loses spot in 'Top Destinations of the World' awards

Agra: It seems as if the tourists' attraction towards the Taj city has started to decline. The city known for its epitome of love Taj Mahal failed to win a spot for itself in the Travellers' Choice Awards 2016.

While the state administration has always claimed Agra to be the most favourite destination among the tourists, the reality has come out to be different from what has always been stated. The government has tried to increase the tourism of the state through several attempts but it looks like the work has not been much appreciated by the travellers coming to visit the city.

Jaipur acquires 10th place in world top rising destinations:

• While the awards had no mention of the Agra in the list of the top destinations, another city Jodhpur has managed to win spot for itself in the list of top 10 'rising destinations of the world'.
• The Rajasthani city has been ranked 10 globally and third most attractive tourist spot in Asia by the TripAdvisor's global 'Travellers' Choice awards for 2017.

The travel planning and booking site in the report revealed that Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, took the top spot for Asia, while the laid-back local scene of San Jose del Cabo in Mexico earned the ranking of number one spot in the world.

'Tripadvisor.com' is the most searched global website which announces the global awards based on approximately 435 million reviews and opinions of the tourists. It also provides details about the worldwide destinations to visit for including the best staying hotels and tourists spots in different countries of the world. The places are ranked according to the travellers' review ratings for accommodations, restaurants and attractions, and increase in booking interest.
