New Delhi: After grant of Indian citizenship to Pakistan-origin singer Adnan Sami, another off-shore celebrity Salma Agha, may receive a favour response from the Indian government.

The singer is likely to meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the national capital, on Monday, regarding the grant of ‘Overseas Citizen of India’ (OCI) status .

Informatively, Agha is a divorced wife of Adnan. The couple legally separated from each other in 1997.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at 1530 hours.

The grant of OCI status would allow her to visit India as and when she wants. She would not need a visa before landing on any of the Indian airports.

  • Agha was born in Pakistan and is currently a citizen of United Kingdom.
  • The revered singer has ancestral links with India. She is the granddaughter of legendary actor Jugal Kishore Mehra and actress Anwari Begum.
