Lucknow: Confirming the reports of skipping lunch at the 19th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit in Islamabad, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said he exactly spoke at the conference what he wanted to tell Pakistan regarding Burhan Wani’s encounter.

“I think my speech at the SAARC summit was exactly what Pakistan needed to hear since Wani was gunned down by the Indian Army. Moreover, I want to make it very clear that I don’t have any regrets. My motive to go there was not lunch and so I skipped it,” said the Home Minister while addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Lucknow.

What else Rajnath said:

  • I want to see Lucknow as the world’s most magnificent and splendorous city.
  • I know what the people want to hear but, I’m sorry that I can’t repeat those words.
  • On behalf of India as a whole, I told Pakistan what they wanted to hear for a long time.
  • My speech was blacked out at the event and I think it gave all the clarifications.
