New York: OurMine, on Monday, took the responsibility of hacking the servers of much-hyped reality game ‘Pokemon Go’, leaving the game lovers worldwide in fury.

Players reported that were facing problem in logging into their individual game accounts for playing Pokemon Go. The professional hacking team hit game’s login servers with a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.

What the members of OurMine said?

  • OurMine is the same group of hackers who claimed for compromising Twitter chief executive officer (CEO) Jack Dorsey's, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg's and Google CEO Sundar Pichai's social media accounts
  • The attack will be stopped only after one of the representatives from Pokemon Go contact us
  • No one would be able to play the game until then
  • We will teach them how to protect their login servers
  • Our motive is to promote stronger security systems across the world

What is DDoS attack?

  • Hackers flood the login servers of a particular website with ‘n’ number traffic
  • Genuine users are also prohibited to login to their accounts due to heavy rush of traffic

Technical glitches with Pokemon Go

  • Game became so popular among the users that its servers were getting almost same number of traffic almost every time
  • 26 new countries have been added now where Pokemon Go will be accessible
  • It is hence believed that company will have to face more troubles now
