Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court has accepted the plea to make successful candidates as the party in the petitions filed against the authenticity of the PCS-PRE (Preliminary) exam results 2016.

A division bench comprising Justice Dilip Gupta and Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta has sent notices to about half a dozen candidates seeking their replies. July 27 has been fixed as the next date for the hearing of the petition filed by Sunil Kumar Singh and 61 others.

In the earlier hearing, Allahabad HC had directed the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) to post the names and addresses of the candidates, who have passed the PCS-PRE exams 2016, over its official website.

Why the plea has been filed?

  • Petitioners have challenged the PCS – Pre result 2016
  • It was mentioned that as many as wrong options were provided to seven questions
  • Petitioners said that correct options as their answers were submitted to the UPPSC along with supporting documents and books
  • It was claimed in the plea that candidates failed to clear the exam due to UPPSC’s fault
  • It was also mentioned that many qualified candidates, who gave wrong answers, would be replaced by petitioners and others if correct answers were included in the option
