Nigerian student attacked in Hyderabad University

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old Nigerian student was badly injured in a clash with a local, after a tiff over parking in Hyderabad, on Wednesday.

The clash occurred, when one Mohammad Ghafoor asked Nigerian national Ghazeem to remove his vehicle parked in front of his house, in Hyderabad's Banjara Hills area.

The incident:

• "Ghazeem refused to heed and a scuffle broke out.
• Ghafoor took a rod and hit him on his head," sub-inspector Krishna said
• The third-year student at Nizam College in Hyderabad suffered a deep gash, and doctors had to use eight stitches to sew up the wound.
• The attack comes days after a Congolese national was lynched in the national capital of New Delhi.
