New Delhi: A call to the control room of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday, claiming to have planted bombs in the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, turned out to be a hoax.

“Several security forces, along with bomb disposal squads, rushed to both the ministers’ residences as soon as they were informed about the call. Although extensive checks were conducted, nothing was found,” said a senior Delhi police officer.

Highlights:

  • The call was made through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service.
  • Police were trying to ascertain the caller’s identity.
