New Delhi: Popular face of news channel debates, Maulana Syed Athar Hussain Dehlavi on Friday, during a show on a leading news channel, gave a controversial statement about Lord Rama and Sita.

“PM Modi left his wife in Gujarat, Lord Rama left Sita and you are teaching us about Triple Talak,” said Maulana Dehalvi during a debate on a leading news channel.

Other guests in the programme, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Sambit Patra and RSS thinker Rakesh Singh, asked for the immediate apology over the statement.

Hours after the video went viral, enraged mass came down heavily on Maulana on Twitter, leaving #ArrestMaulanaDehlvi trend on the micro-blogging site. People, on social networking sites, are demanding the arrest of Maulana Dehlvi.
