Main accused of Tanzil Ahmad murder arrested by UP STF

Lucknow: In a major breakthrough, the Noida Special Task Force (STF) arrested Muneer Ahmad, the main accused of slain NIA officer Tanzil's murder case, on Tuesday.

Muneer was at large since April 2 last and bounty of Rs 50,000 was announced on him by the Uttar Pradesh police which was later increased to rupees 2 lakh.

The case:

• NIA Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tanzil Ahmad was shot dead on April 2 last in Sahaspur while he was returning from a relative’s wedding ceremony.
• Ahmad was the core member in the investigating team and Muneerof Pathankot attack.
• Both NIA and UP police are jointly investigating the case.
