Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is all set for his ninth trip to jail following his conviction in the multi-million fodder scam case.

Former Bihar Chief Minister, who has been convicted in a case relating to fraudulent withdrawal of over Rs 85 lakh from Deoghar district treasury, will be given VIP treatment on his third trip to Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi.

He will be kept in an upper-division cell where he will get a bed, a mosquito net and a television. He will also be provided a newspaper every morning.

As per the informed sources, Lalu Yadav will also be allowed to skip jail food and order it from outside. He will be allotted a prisoner number after the special Central Bureau of Investigation court will announce the quantum of sentence on January 3.

Earlier in 2013, the same court had convicted Lalu in another case pertaining to the fodder scam. The RJD chief moved out of the jail after getting bail from the Supreme Court.

As per Lalu's lawyer, Chittaranjan Prasad Singh, the leader has been to jail five times in fodder scam cases only.

In 2013, after spending three months in the same jail in relation to the fodder scam case, Lalu had moved out of jail premises riding an elephant.
