Kuwait denies issuing visa for 5-Muslim majority countries

Kuwait City: Kuwait on Thursday announced that they will not give visas to the migrants from five Muslim-majority countries, Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran.

The country took the decision after newly elected United States President Donald Trump passed an executive order banning seven Muslim-majority nations, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen, on January 28.

Informing about the same, the Kuwaiti government asked the people of the five banned countries not to apply for visas, as it is worried about the possibility of migration of radical Islamic terrorists.

Earlier in a similar order passed by Trump, the US government refused entry to the refugees from around the world in the country for 120 days while all immigration requests from so-called "countries with terrorism concerns" were suspended for 90 days.

Kuwait had already banned entry of the Syrian national even before Trump's executive order. Earlier in 2011, Kuwait City had suspended visas for all Syrian nationals.
