New Delhi: Several members of the right-wing Hindu Sena on Wednesday prayed, lit ritualistic fire and chanted mantras for Donald Trump’s victory in the United States (US) presidential election.

It was apparent that Trump’s call for temporarily banning Muslims in America and cracking down on terror outfits abroad had earned him admirers in faraway India.

Highlights:

  • The Hindu Sena nationalist group gathered in a New Delhi’s park with statues of Gods including Shiva and Hanuman as well as Trump’s posters.
  • The group carried out a ‘hawan’, requesting Gods to favour Trump in the polls.
