Lucknow: The nine days spring festival 'Navratri' commenced on Wednesday. On the first day of this pious occasion Hindus worship Goddess Shailputri and Lucknowites were seen celebrating this occasion with much enthusiasm.

They visited different temples in the state capital and worshipped the Goddess Shakti 'Maa Shailputri'.

This nine days auspicious festival symbolizes victory over evil and is celebrated with great enthusiasm and faith.
