Google Doodle Joins Hand with India To Celebrate Teacher's Day

India is celebrating ‘Teachers Day’ with great joy today. Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year on 5th September, a day that coincides with the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan — the former President of India. Dr Radhakrishnan had said that “teachers should be the best minds in the country”. And it is this belief of his that is honoured on the day.With an animated doodle, Google joined hands with India Saturday to celebrate Teacher’s Day.

Google Doodle:

The doodle showcases a mirage of objects, associated with different academic and extracurricular subjects, in honour of teachers across the country who contribute in honing skills for the next generation.

Subjects like Mathematics, Science and Psychology, among others. Along with representative elements of school life were featured in Google’s colourful doodle.

Teachers' Day:

Teachers’ Day falls on the birth anniversary of India’s second president and first Vice President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, in honour of one of the most learned scholars in the fields of comparative religion and philosophy. Radhakrishnan, regarded as a brilliant teacher by his students. He was graduated with a Master’s degree in Philosophy. In addition, made a tremendous contribution to place Indian philosophy on the global platform.

Also, he was also a professor at the Presidency College in erstwhile Madras and the University of Calcutta. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna. And the British Royal Order of Merit for his valuable contributions in the field of learning throughout his life.

PM Modi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed his gratitude to teachers for “their remarkable efforts” in shaping minds and building the nation on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

“We remain grateful to the hardworking teachers for their contributions towards shaping minds and building our nation. On Teachers Day, we express gratitude to our teachers for their remarkable efforts. We pay tributes to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on his Jayanti. #OurTeachersOurHeroes,” PM Modi tweeted.

Covid Impact:

Unlike other years, most schools and colleges will conduct their Teachers’ Day programmes in virtual mode. In honour of their teachers, students will host special programmes. Also, share their love online due to the pandemic. Social media, including Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, were flooded with wishes and messages this morning.
