Egyptian minister orders to translate Tagore’s work in Arabic

Cairo: Egypt’s culture minister Helmi el-Namnam on Monday ordered the national library of the country to translate a book based on the diaries of the first Nobel laureate of India, Rabindra Nath Tagore, in Arabic.

Helmi received the book as a gift by the Indian ambassador after they jointly released it in a book exhibition at the National Library of Egypt in Cairo. The exhibition, which will end on Thursday, is held to mark the writer’s 155^th birth anniversary (May 7) in Egypt.

According to Helmi, the celebration of Tagore’s birth anniversary was important to strengthen relations between the two countries
