Cop throws back grenade flung by militant; saves 15 colleagues

Srinagar: A Special Police Officer (SPO) on Sunday set a perfect example of alertness by throwing back a grenade hurled by militants from inside a security force vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore town.

With his heroic act, he saved the lives of over 15 colleagues.

But the grenade exploded in the return throw, two policemen and four civilians suffered minor injuries, a police officer said.

The militant attack took place near a State Bank of India branch.
