Ballia: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) from Salempur constituency, Ravindra Kushwaha, has apprehended that the Congress party might even call Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as traitors.

“The Congress leaders are so frustrated with the Modi led government’s accomplishments that they fail to differentiate between traitors and revolutionaries”, said Kushwaha addressing a press conference at Ballia in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

What else Kushwaha said:

  • Congress always comes out in support of renegades like Yakub Memon and Afzal Guru.
  • The great personalities who devoted their lives to the independence struggle seem quisling to the Congress party leaders.
  • Kushwaha questioned that why Indira Gandhi issued a postage stamp on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar praising his bravery if he was a traitor.

The matter:

In a series of tweets coinciding with March 23, martyrdom anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and his associates, the Congress party attacked Vinayak Damodar Savarkar dusting out his 1913 petition, from Cellular Jail of Andaman, where he expressed fidelity to British government.
