Communal tension grips UP village after alleged cow slaughter

Muzaffarnagar: Communal tension on Saturday gripped Kadhli village in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh after a house, where a cow was allegedly slaughtered, was attacked by a mob.

Four members of the accused family have been booked by the police. The commotion erupted when an enraged group of locals gathered outside one Zeeshan Qureshi’s house in the village, accusing him and others from his family of cow slaughter.

After receiving no response from inside, the mob vandalized Qureshi’s house and even tried to set it afire. Subsequently, local police reached the spot and took control of the situation.

  • Noticing the outside uproar, the accused family fled their house.
  • The family includes Qureshi, his wife Shehnaz as well as two other relatives Saddam and Mota.
  • A case of alleged cow slaughter has been filed against the family in a local police station.
  • Heavy police and other security forces have been deployed across the village in the wake of the incident.
