Forget cheerleaders, play tunes of Lord Rama in IPL: Digvijaya Singh

New Delhi: In yet another controversial statement, Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Sunday said in place of cheerleaders, tunes of Lord Rama should be played in Indian Premiere League matches.

"Forget cheerleaders, play the tunes of Lord Rama instead. Whenever any player hits boundary or takes a wicket, devotional tunes should be played,' said Digvijaya Singh.

Digvijaya said Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan did not want to exempt entertainment tax to three IPL matches which are scheduled to be played in Indore next month.

"Cheerleaders are the major reason behind Shivraj's disinterest in entertainment tax exemption. He is against the involvement of cheerleaders in the popular T20 league," said former MP Chief Minister.

He said considering the craze among the Indians for IPL, the entertainment tax should be relaxed.
