Centre withdraws order banning sale of cattle for slaughter

New Delhi: The Centre on Saturday withdrew the controversial order that banned the sale of cattle for slaughter in markets.

The order, issued in May this year, sought to curb cruelty to animals but sparked off a nationwide row with several states objecting to the Centre's action.
