Patna: For his reaction against Mumbai bombings accused Yakub Memon’s hanging, a district court in Hajipur city of Vaishali in Bihar on Wednesday summoned All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi and ordered him to be produced before it on August 11.

Rajesh Pandey, the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, ordered the Hyderabad Member of Parliament (MP) to appear in the court on the next hearing of a petition against him.

The order was released by the court while hearing a petition filed by local lawyer Rajeev Kumar Shukla on July 31, 2015.

It may be recalled that Owaisi, while protesting against death sentence to Memon, questioned why capital punishment was not awarded to former Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi’s killers and the rioters in 2002 Gujarat carnage.
