New Delhi: Jayadev Galla, who opened the no trust motion debate in the Lok Sabha on Friday morning, might have not been a very well known face in Indian politics till today morning, but has now become the national trend.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP was requested by his party chief N Chandrababu Naidu to open the debate despite the fact that the motion was actually moved by Kesineni Srinivas on Wednesday.

His party was given 13 minutes to speak in the lower house of the Parliament, but he requested to be given half-an-hour more.

He initiated his speech giving reference to a Telugu movie and claimed that ever since Narendra Modi came to power in the country, Andhra Pradesh has only been served with hollow promises. He also targeted Congress saying that both the parties have only betrayed the people of Andhra.

"Mr Prime Minister if you don't keep your promises, the BJP will be destroyed in Andhra Pradesh. It is not a threat, it is a shraap (curse)," Jayadev Galla said.

It might surprise you that the 52-year-old lawmaker from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh has completed his education in the US and is a multi-millionaire industrialist. This is his first term as a Member of Parliament.

He is the Managing Director of Amara Raja Group and is also ranked amongst the top CEOs in the country. He is married to Padmavathi, who is the daughter of a Telugu filmstar Krishna. She is the sister of superstar Mahesh Babu.

At the time of contesting his first election in 2014, Galla declared wealth worth over Rs 680 crore. Apart from being a topnotch CEO of a multinational company, Jayadev Galla is also a very articulate MP and his attendance in the Parliament has been 84 per cent ever since he was elected by the people of Guntur.

Earlier also he was trending over social media following his speech in the Lok Sabha on Andhra Pradesh's dissatisfaction with the functioning of the Centre.
