Agra railway division wants operation of Gatimaan Express

Agra: Various Railway unions are up in arms with the Railway Board for entrusting operation of Gatimaan Express, the fastest train of the country, to Delhi division instead of Agra Division.

Protesting the move, the union members on Sunday stopped the Shatabdi Express for ten minutes at Cantonment station in Agra. They said the Agra division employees should be given the responsibility of the operations of Gatimaan Express which embarks on its inaugural run between Nizamuddin station in New Delhi and Agra from April 5 next.

Who took part in the protest:

Division Secretary of Indian Railway Loco RUNNING Men's Organisation P K Sharma, branch secretary Rahul Chaurasia and S K Tyagi, P K Sharma and Abhay Kulshreshtha of North Central Railways Employees association.

Future Strategy:

  • They proposed to meet DRM of Agra at 1600 hour to press their demand.
  • If talks fails, the unions will even stop Gatimaan Express on April 5 next.
