From reducing electricity and fuel to re-purposing and giving back, we have many ideas to make your wedding a green wedding.

Below are few environment-friendly ideas that you must go through once:

#1- Use recycled paper for invitations, menus and thank you cards.

#2- Donate the wedding flowers to a hospital or any orphanage so that they can also enjoy the beauty and fragrances of the flowers.

#3- Use recycled paper to decorate the venue.

#4- To minimise the wastage of food and cutlery, it is preferable to RSVP as many guests as possible before the wedding day.

#5- Gift your guests a potted sapling. If there are more outstation guests, you can consider giving them seed packets or earthen jars as they are easier to carry.

#6- Sending paper invites can be swapped with digital invites via WhatsApp and emails. Try to invite your near and dear ones through digital mediums.

#7- Instead of the leftovers foods being thrown in the bin, opt for a non-governmental organisation to pick up the extra food and transport it to the needy people.

#8- If you are having a night wedding, ask your venue for energy saving light bulbs, candles, and use of biodegradable products.

#9- Use cloth decors like colourful drapes to add colors to your venue instead of using too much of marigolds like every other Indian wedding.

#10- Go for linens of natural fabrics like organic cotton and recycled fabrics.
