YouTube New Features: YouTube is bringing two new features to the Indian market, which will focus on promoting accurate and specific health information to the users. "Health Source Information Panel" and "Health Content Shelf" will now be available in Hindi and English in India. These features – already available in the US – are designed to help combat misinformation and credible videos about health topics. Japan and Brazil are the other two markets where this feature is being rolled out.

In a video interview, Dr. Garth Graham, YouTube's Director and Global Head of Healthcare and Public Health, explained in a video interview, "Our mission is to offer truly equal access to high quality, official health information that is evidence-based, but equally important, it is Must be cultural, relevant and engaging. This approach strengthens our ongoing efforts to combat misinformation related to treatment."

These features are triggered when a user searches for information related to any health-related condition such as stroke or breast cancer. 'Health source information panels' will appear under the videos of recognized health organizations and government entities. For example, if someone is watching a video on breast cancer by Apollo Hospitals, a label will appear at the bottom, indicating that it is from a credible source.

The idea is to "give more references" to users to help them "identify videos from official sources".

The 'Health Content Shelf' will highlight videos from official sources more effectively when viewers search for specific health topics. For example, when a user searches for heart disease or stroke, a new content shelf will appear next to the regular search result.
