New Delhi: While many major tech companies have refused to participate in the 2022 tech event CES due to the rapidly growing omicron infection, Samsung is set to introduce a special monitor series. The South Korean company has brought the world's first 4K 240Hz gaming monitor with its Odyssey lineup. The monitor lineup will be officially introduced in 2022 CES to be held in Las Vegas.

World's first 4K 240Hz display panel

Samsung Odyssey Neo 8 is said to be the world's first 240Hz panel. Curved 4K Gaming Monitor features a 1000R curve and comes first with i Quantum Mini LED Technology for Odyssey Neo G9. The mini-LED backlighting system found in a 32-inch display is the 1/40th size of normal LED units. This 4K panel can give for the peak brightness HDR content of the 2000nits.


Many advanced display features

Samsung Monitor also features an auto source switch+ feature, which automatically changes the source when the device is on. On the other hand, brightness and RGB settings are changed according to the content that appears on the screen with the CoreSync feature. It has dual HDMI 2.1 ports and DisplayPort 1.4 connection support for connectivity. It will opt for 4096 backlight advertisements with Samsung's Quantum Matrix and Quantum HDR 2000 technology.

Smart Monitor 8 also included in the lineup

Samsung will also showcase the second Smart Monitor 8 model at the tech trade show, which features the built-in Google Duo app and comes with webcams. The 32-inch display comes with UHD resolution and also supports popular OTT platforms. Users will be able to use it for everything from professional work to personal entertainment. With Samsung SmartThings Hub, this monitor offers the option to control IoT devices with SmartThings support.

The world's first glare-free monitor

The Monitor lineup, also includes Samsung S8, which is specially designed for content creators. The monitor, which comes in two display sizes of 32 inches and 27 inches, has received certification from underwriters' laboratories for the world's first glare-free display monitor. For colour accuracy, the monitor comes with DCI-P3 colour space and VESA Display HDR 600 certification. It has been given LAN support and USB-C 90W charging support.

Price will be revealed during the event

The price of all three new Samsung monitors may come up during a tech event starting January 5, 2022. Apart from these monitors, the company can showcase innovative products at the event. However, the company has not said at present on which markets the new monitors will be launched. All the three new models will be available for sale in the market in the first half of this year.

Samsung, which started by selling noodles and other products in 1938, is today one of the world's largest display manufacturers. The company brought its first electronic product in 1970, a 12-inch black and white TV.
