At present, users are able to share files up to 100 MB. WhatsApp is testing 2GB file sharing in Argentina on beta versions of both iOS and Android apps. The new feature can be seen on Android versions 2.22.8.5, 2.22.8.6 and 2.22.8.7 of WhatsApp beta, while on iOS beta versions 22.7.0.76.

Actually, in the last one year, the quality of the camera of people's phones has improved a lot, after which people want to share large files but are unable to share due to limitation. In such a situation, the option of file sharing up to 2 GB will be really in the interest of the people, although it is not yet clear when the facility of sharing images in full resolution will be available.
