Truecaller, the popular caller identification app, has introduced cutting-edge features in India, elevating the communication experience for Android and iOS users. This latest enhancement includes the ability to record both incoming and outgoing calls, coupled with AI-powered transcriptions, making Truecaller a comprehensive solution for seamless and efficient communication.

Initially launched in the United States in June 2023, Truecaller's call recording and transcription features are now available to its premium users in India. This move aims to provide users with a convenient, all-in-one platform for managing their calls, eliminating the need for third-party applications for call recordings.

Android users will find the call recording process straightforward. Truecaller's dialer incorporates a dedicated recording button, allowing users to start and stop recordings effortlessly. Even for those not using the app's dialer, a floating button is provided for quick access to the recording feature. After the call concludes, a push notification signals the availability of the transcription.

On the iOS platform, which is more restrictive with third-party call recording, Truecaller users need to access the Search page and tap "Record a call." This prompts the app to call a recording line, a special number provided by Truecaller. Users can then merge this call with the person they wish to record, and once merged, recording begins with a push notification confirming the process. All recorded calls are stored locally on the device, with the option to create backups on iCloud.

The AI-powered transcription feature is a notable addition, offering users a full transcription of recorded calls after the conversation concludes. This feature is available in both English and Hindi languages, catering to a diverse user base in India. Users can easily manage their recordings, rename them, delete unwanted ones, or share them with other applications.

It's worth noting that some smartphone models, like the Google Pixel 8 series and select Samsung devices, already have built-in features to transcribe calls in real-time. However, Truecaller's offering extends this functionality to users without such in-built capabilities, making it a valuable addition for a broader audience.

To access these premium features, users need to subscribe to Truecaller's Premium plan, with pricing starting at a monthly cost of Rs. 75 and an annual subscription at Rs. 529. The introduction of these features reflects Truecaller's commitment to enhancing user experience and staying at the forefront of technological advancements in the communication landscape.
