TRAI bats for regulatory framework for Artificial Intelligence

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recommended for formulation of a regulatory framework for the development of responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In its ten-page recommendations, the TRAI has said that such a framework is essential for regulating AI use cases.

It said that Artificial Intelligence and Data Authority of India (AIDAI) should establish as an independent constitutional authority to regulate AI.

TRAI suggested that there should be two organisations to regulate AI. One should be independent constitutional authority while other should be multi-stakeholders body which will help to ICA as an advisory.

AI does not only affect the telecom sector but it includes health, agriculture, finance, transportation and education.

Not only India but other countries are also trying to establish an AI regulatory framework.
