Multi-purpose-car (MPVs) is very popular in the Indian automobile market. These days, there is a huge demand in the train segment. According to sales reports of the last few months, India has sold more large trains than smaller trains. If you are also planning to buy a new big car for your family in 2022, we have come up with information about these MPVs to be launched next year for you.

What are MPV cars?

A variety of trains are sold in the Indian market so that people can buy them as per their requirements. One of these trains is MPV, also known as MUV. MPV is a van-shaped vehicle used to carry passengers or luggage. These are mixed versions of hatchbacks and SUVs and can accommodate a maximum of 7 to 9 passengers.

Hyundai Staria MPV

Auto giant Hyundai plans to launch a new 7-seater model Staria in the Indian market around April next year. Coming to the design, it has a small bonnet with full-LED DRL, a large grille with chrome mesh pattern, and LED headlamps. It will have a 3.5-liter smartstream G 3.5 MPi petrol engine, which generates 268hp power and 331.4Nm peak torque. The starting price will be around Rs 27 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift

Maruti Suzuki plans to update its Ertiga Multi-Purpose Car (MPV) early next year. The Ertiga facelift will have a carved hood, chrome grille, wide black-out air vent, fog lamp on the bumper and a power antenna. It will have a 1.5-litre K15 hybrid petrol engine that generates 103hp power and 138Nm torque. The initial price is likely to be over Rs 8.25 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga XL6

Maruti is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of its MPV Ertiga XL6. It was sighted testing on Indian roads a while back and will be released in early 2022. It uses a smart hybrid powertrain K15B as before, including a 1.5-liter petrol motor. According to reports, the initial price could be between Rs 10 lakh.

Renault Triber Turbo

Renault plans to launch its Triber car in turbo variants early next year. It will have a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine capable of powering 100hp. It has LED lighting systems and multiple airbags. The cabin will also have a touch screen infotainment panel supporting new connectivity options. The price of the car is estimated to start at around Rs 8 lakh.

KIA Carens

Kia introduced her new Carens MPV this month and testing has also started. Its cabin has facilities like a digital instrument cluster, push-button start-stop, cruise control, ambient lighting, sunroof, ventilated front seats, air purifier. It will be launched with petrol of 1.5 litres and 1.4 litres and diesel powertrains of 1.5 litres. The initial ex-showroom price of Kia Carens MPV could be Rs 15 lakh.

Toyota Rumion

Toyota has filed a trademark application for the Rumion nameplate in India, indicating that the company will launch its seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) with the same name. The 7-seater MPV is powered by a 1.5-liter K-series petrol engine that satisfies BS-6 requirements and produces 105hp and 138Nm of peak torque. Tell us that this car will be launched for Rs 13 lakh.
