Navigating the Deepfake Dangers: A Guide to Spotting and Avoiding Scams on Telegram

Telegram, the instant messaging platform, is introducing a new sponsored messages feature, which will allow users to promote their channels and bots to other users. Users will not be shown any add-ons while chatting, according to the company, even after the sponsored messages feature is implemented. In accordance with Telegram policy, sponsored messages will not be displayed in users' chat lists, private chats, or group conversations.

According to the messaging company, sponsored messages will only appear in large public one-to-many channels with more than 1000 members, rather than in smaller ones. It has also been stated that the company will not use user data in order to display the advertisement. Instead, users will be presented with sponsored messages that are based on topics that are discussed on public channels. As a result, no data analysis will be required for the purpose of displaying such sponsored messages.

Data safety is ensured - Telegram

Telecommunications company Telegram has assured its users that their personal information will not be shared with advertisers. A large number of Telegram users were instrumental in bringing about changes to WhatsApp's privacy policies earlier this year. Telegram, which has a slew of new features, is attempting to build a large userbase similar to WhatsApp. As a result, Telegram is giving users more control over their data while also placing a greater emphasis on privacy.

Customized Chat themes

In the most recent update, Telegram introduced eight new themes that can be customised by applying them to different chats. All come with Day and Night versions of the Themes, and they all follow the night mode found in the app's settings. Gradient message bubbles, animated backgrounds, and special background patterns are some of the options available. In addition, new interactive emojis with full-screen effects have been added to the Telegram mobile application.

Group admins get better controls

With the 8.2 update, Telegram Group Admins now have the ability to view their groups in preview mode. Users will be able to create group invite links for chats if necessary, and administrators will be able to control who can join the group and watch the chats through the use of the request admin approval setting. Telegram is attempting to compete with WhatsApp by introducing new features. Telegram is a messaging app that works on both desktop and mobile devices, and it provides many features that WhatsApp does not.

India is the having the biggest userbase

Despite the fact that Telegram has been downloaded more than a billion times worldwide, censor towers have shared data about the app in the recent past. The instant messaging app, which was launched in 2013, is now a direct competitor to Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. WhatsApp's userbase grew rapidly as a result of the company's privacy policy update and the ensuing legal battle. According to Censor Tower, India continues to be the most important internet market for telegrams in the world.
