Stylus Is Expected in Xiaomi's Foldable Phone

New Delhi: Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is working on a foldable phone, with signs of being found in the new patent. Xiaomi launched the first foldable phone Mi MIX Fold in March last year and the new device could be its successor. The previous device was brought by the company in a collision with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. With the new foldable phone, Xiaomi will now try to launch the galaxy Z fold 3 option.

Support for stylus in new foldable phones

The MySmartPrice has reported the new Xiaomi patent, which has been filed in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The patent is being considered as the basis of Xiaomi's next flagship device and looks similar to other foldable phones. However, the patent image shows a single camera sensor on the rear panel with LED flash. The new thing is the stylus support this foldable device gets.

The phone will be attached with the stylus

The stylus found with Xiaomi's foldable phone will not fit inside the device like the Samsung Galaxy Note series. It will be attached to the edge of the device with the help of a stylus magnet. With a similar system, apple pencils are also attached to devices like iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad Mini. More information related to the stylus and its accompanying features is yet to be revealed.

Why need a stylus foldable phone?

South Korean company Samsung has also supported its foldable devices with stylus and now Xiaomi is also going to do the same. In fact, small-screen phones can be easily accessed with hand fingers, while it takes a lot of effort to reach every part of the big screen. Tasks like drawing or making presentations on the big screen with stylus also become easier.

Device to come with flagship specifications

Features and specifications of Xiaomi's next foldable phone are yet to be revealed. The company is expected to provide flagship-level specifications to rival other foldable phones. The company also offered better features than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 in Mi MIX Fold which came out in March last year. It is also not clear at the moment whether users will get a stylus with a new foldable phone or buy it separately.

Try to make it to the foldable market

Samsung launched the first turning phone in 2019, while Xiaomi took two years longer to bring in the first foldable device. Of course, Samsung may have a better experience of making foldable devices, but Xiaomi will make its bid by bringing in stronger features and low-cost foldable phones than the rest of the devices. The market for foldable smartphones is believed to grow rapidly in the coming days and Xiaomi does not want to lag behind.
