This year, in the parade of 26th January i.e. Republic Day a powerful submarine will also narrate its solar story, which keeps doing its work silently in the sea for the security of the country.

This submarine of Kalvari Class is India's most modern submarine. It runs on both diesel and electricity. This submarine has been built at Mazagon Dockyard in Mumbai with the technical help of France.

6 such submarines of Kalvari class are to be included in the Indian Navy. At present, five submarines of this class have been inducted into the Navy and the sixth will also join the fleet in a few days. The name of the first submarine of this class is Kalvari. The Kalvari submarine is about 67 meters long and 21 meters high. Its weight is about one and a half thousand tons. It can run at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour above water and 37 kilometers per hour underwater. This submarine, which can defeat the enemy, can stay under water for 50 days. This submarine is capable of playing an important role in many types of missions.

Kalvari submarine has the capability to carry out both attack and surveillance while floating in the deep sea. It can also lay landmines in the sea. Equipped with torpedoes and anti-ship missiles, this submarine is capable of destroying even warships. Submarines of this class are also called sand sharks, that is, they are expert in attacking by hiding from the enemy's sight. This submarine is equipped with modern features. It is called a state of art submarine. With its monitoring, the wall of Indian security in the Indian Ocean becomes extremely strong. This is such a silent force, which the enemy realizes only much later.
