In this era of technology, everyone wants to listen to music. Music lovers use different apps like Spotify, Jio Savan, Wynk and many more to satisfy their thirst for music.

To listen to ad free music, many people take monthly or yearly plans also. But what if these plans become too pricey? Spotify has hiked its rate. Music streaming app Spotify has increased its premium plan's rate in many countries including Britain, USA and India.

According to media reports, the company took the decision in the wake of losses in business.

The company has increased the rate by $1 (Rs80). Now the new single premium plan will be available for $10.99 (Rs900), the duo will be $14.99 (Rs1,230), the family plan will be $16.99 (Rs1,390) and the student plan will be available for $5.99 (Rs490).

The company has also fired some of its employees to cut losses.

Before this, Apple, Amazon and Tidal had also increased their rate. YouTube has also joined this race and has increased the rates of its monthly and yearly plans.

In India, the rate has been increased by Rs7 per day. The Premium individual plan will now be available at Rs119 per month while the duo plan will become available at Rs149. The monthly rate of the family plan will now be Rs179 per month.
