Every day we read new cases related to scams. Previously we read about QR Code scam, phone call scam etc. But now a days a new scam is in light. It’s Courier Scam.

Recently, in a scam of Rs1.52 crore took place with a 66-year-old man in Bengaluru. Debashish Das, a resident of Bengaluru, faced a courier scam, after which he lodged a complaint with the police.

What is a courier scam?

Scams occurring under the pretext of couriers have been named courier scams.

In this scam, first, you will get a call. The scammer calling will tell you that he is part of the courier team.

Now he will become an officer and tell you that something has been found in your parcel which is a legal offense. After this, you will be asked for a lot of money.

The same case was held with a woman from Bengaluru, after which she lost her lakhs of money.

In this condition, people don't take any action because of fear.

How to avoid courier scam?

To avoid courier scams, first of all, don't share your personal information with strangers.

Before giving information, ask the person to know about which courier's delivery he is talking from.

In case, if you have not ordered any item then contact the courier company.

If someone involves your name in courier scam, you can also contact the local police directly.

Record the call to use the conversation as proof.

To avoid money-related fraud, do not give any information related to the bank to any officer.

Also, check the ID of the officer before taking the courier to your home.
