HONOR, the Chinese smartphone brand, which had parted ways with Huwaei two years back, is all set to return to the Indian market.

According to the media reports, Honor is expected to make a comeback to the country under the leadership of ex-Realme India head, Madhav Sheth. Honor and Madhav Sheth himself have now made this official by teasing the awaited comeback. Honor was one of the popular Chinese smartphone brands in India but its smartphone business took a hit because of US sanctions.

That the company is returning to India was evident from the fact that it had been teasing its return through posts on its HONORTechIndia Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) pages.

Each day, the brand has been revealing a letter of “HONOR,” culminating in the unveiling of the brand’s new identity for India as “HONOR Tech.” This strategic move aims to avoid any potential legal conflicts arising from its separation from HUAWEI. The brand has also set up a telegram channel named HONOR TECH and announced plans for a contest for its fans.

Former realme India CEO, Madhav Sheth, is expected to play a pivotal role in HONOR Tech’s expansion in India

Sheth, on X, shared the exciting news of HONOR’s return, highlighting the brand’s commitment to innovation and empowerment for Indians. Additionally, CP Khandelwal, CEO of PR innovations at PSAV, is also anticipated to be a significant part of HONOR Tech’s journey, particularly in establishing the brand in India.

HONOR 90, a premium upper midrange smartphone, is set to mark the brand’s return, expected to launch in mid-September. The device is expected to cost around Rs 45,000.

The HONOR 90 boasts impressive features, including a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a quad curve design. It will sport a powerful 200MP triple rear camera setup with AI capabilities, along with a 50MP selfie camera. The phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition and will run on the latest Android 13-based HONOR MagicOS 7.1.
