Government bans loan apps from Google play and Apple store
The announcement of the ban was made by union minister of state for electronics and information technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
Apparently taking note of a spat of suicides by many people after being fleeced and cheated by numerous loan sharks, who operated through online apps, the government ordered a complete ban on loan apps on Google Play store and Apple store.

The minister said, "Today there are many applications on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store that are being used by Indians. We are tracking a set of applications that are loan applications’’.
He released an advisory in which Google and Apple were told that they should not list these types of unsafe applications. Our aim is to keep internet safe and trustable for the 'Digital people' of the country, he added.
"We will conduct a meeting and make a list with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in this matter. After this, only those application could be able to give loan who will suit in the decided parameters", said Chandrasekhar.
