New Delhi: Formula One (F1), the world's most popular international auto racing, is also now set to turn to the electric segment. The International Automobile Federation (FIA), the F1 operator, said that by 2026, a new, affordable and the more environmentally friendly electric unit will be introduced and then Formula One will focus more on the electric segment. In this way, FIA wants to send a strong message to the world about the environment by adopting electric vehicles.

The outline has been prepared

During the meeting in Paris, FIA shared the contours of its key objectives and rules, stating that four key pillars have been listed for this, including keeping 1.6 litre V6 engines, increasing electrical power to 350kW, eliminating MGU-H components that generate power from heat, and introducing a power unit cost cap. In this manner, the FIA will concentrate on 100 percent electric power.

Rules to be revealed by 2022

FIA said that the list of rules relating to 2026 power units will be prepared soon and submitted to the World Motor Sport Council in early 2022. At the same time, FIA also wants to frame rules that will make it possible for new electric vehicle manufacturers to join the game. This will not only increase people's awareness about electric vehicles but will also open doors for new manufacturers in this international racing.

At present these companies are involved

Formula One currently includes only Mercedes, Ferrari, and Reno trains, while Red Bull will replace it after Japanese manufacturer Honda exited later this year. Volkswagen, on the other hand, has also reportedly discussed entering Formula One, the manufacturer of trains like Audi and Porsche. However, the decision will be decided on the rule of switching to electric trains by 2026.

Indian racer has also won its title

Let me tell you that recently Indian driver Jehan Daruvala created history by winning the Formula 2 race at Shakir Grand Picks in Bahrain. At the same time, he has also become the first Indian to achieve such a feat. Currently, he is a part of the Red Bull Junior Team.
