Instagram, which is owned by Meta, has acknowledged the launch of two new features on the social media network. "Finally" and "Rage Shake" are the names of these two new features. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri shared the new features with the public via a short video broadcast to his official Twitter account. After a long wait, users will be able to erase an image from the carousel of featured photographs in the first of these updates, while the second will allow users to report platform problems by shaking their phones.

Delete photos without removing the post

Finally, with the help of a new function called Images, users will be able to remove the single image from the carousel that is currently displayed. If you have put more than one photo in a post and subsequently decide you want to delete one of them, this option will come in handy. On the other side, up until that point, there was no way to delete just one photo, and the sole alternative was to delete the entire post.

Instagram Head shared the video

Adam demonstrates how the final functionality will function in the video he tweeted. The last feature is presently only available to iOS users, but it will be made available on Android platforms in the future. Mosseri claims that people have been asking for this feature for a long time and that it has finally been integrated into the app. Such a feature has been present in the Facebook mobile application for quite some time.

Rage Shake for reporting issues

Users will be able to report access issues to Instagram more simply with the second 'Rage Shake' function, which will be available soon. Users may experience issues such as photographs or videos not uploading or compressing properly at times. Users will only have to 'shake' their phone to report a problem if they are using the Rage Shake function. The feature is currently being rolled out on mobile devices in the United States.

Selfie Video for verification

Users will be prompted to take video selfies by the photo-sharing application. Instagram will utilize this video to determine whether or not a user's account is legitimate. When the user goes through the verification procedure, he or she will be requested to record a brief video of their faces, which will be compared to their profile photographs. The corporation has stated that these video selfies will not be saved in the database and will be erased within 30 days of their creation.

ID Verification options

Instagram will require users who are creating new accounts to upload selfie videos before they can proceed. That is, it is not mandatory for all existing Instagram users to follow the instructions. In addition, Instagram intends to provide users with new choices for confirming their age in some markets. Aside from video selfies, several features linked to ID verification are still in the development stage and have not yet been rolled out to all users in the United States.
