Google, the search engine firm, has added an emergency video recording function to its personal safety app. Now Google Pixel smartphone owners will benefit from a new function that will instantly start video recording when an emergency arises. The safety app for Pixel smartphones already has several useful functions, such as safety check-in. If the user does not get a response from the emergency contacts, the user's location may be tracked down.

The new feature incorporated in the Personal Safety App has been discovered by XDA developers and the Android Police. When the built-in SOS function is activated, this feature will automatically capture videos. This function may be accessible via the Personal Safety App on the Google Pixel Phone's settings page. In the event of a vehicle accident, the features available in this app will also immediately call the 911 emergency number.

45 minutes recording

According to a report by The Verge, the feature would inform users that video recordings lasting up to 45 minutes will be created once they activate it. However, for this feature to function effectively, the phone's storage capacity must be completely depleted. When the user has an internet connection, the recorded video will be automatically backed up to his or her Google account, where it will stay for the following seven days.

Link sharing with emergency contacts

If users wish to send a link to the recorded video with their emergency contact, they will be able to do so simply by heading to the app. Other users will be able to see recordings of emergency videos as a result of this. Users will be able to use their phones with a reduced viewfinder even if this functionality is enabled in pixel devices. Additionally, alerts will be shown as icons to indicate that video recording is taking place in the background.

How does it work?

To activate Emergency SOS on Google Pixel smartphones, the power button must be pushed five times. According to the settings that have been established, the SOS function may perform a variety of tasks, including dialing an emergency number, playing an alert sound, and exchanging information with emergency contacts. The benefit of the new function is that, in an emergency, audio and video will be captured, allowing for subsequent assistance to be sought.

Google Pixel 6 is all set for a launch

Google is teasing the release of its next smartphone, the Google Pixel 6, and leaks connected with the device are emerging. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones, which are part of the new Pixel 6 series, are expected to be launched with the company's premium style and will contain a slew of new capabilities. Google will provide a custom-made unique 'Tensor' chipset in the Pixel 6 series, which the firm has developed in collaboration with Samsung.
