Acer, led by Chairman and CEO Jason Chen, is eyeing substantial growth in the fast-evolving Indian market. Expressing enthusiasm, Chen emphasized Acer's commitment to bringing the latest technology to Indian consumers. The company, already manufacturing laptops, monitors, and projectors in India, is exploring additional avenues to maximize its manufacturing facility's potential. A recent collaboration with Dixon Technologies signifies Acer's dedication to local manufacturing, with the possibility of expanding into other product categories.

In a strategic move, Acer has partnered with Dixon Technologies, a prominent electronics manufacturing services company based in Noida. This collaboration enables the production of laptops, monitors, projectors, and smart home appliances for both domestic and international markets. Acer's manufacturing facility, compliant with regulations mandating at least 20% of laptops to be produced locally, has an annual capacity of up to five lakh laptops. The brand is also actively involved in exporting laptops manufactured in India.

Acer's commitment to the Indian market extends beyond laptops and peripherals. The company has licensed its branding to Indkal Technologies for manufacturing smart TVs, emphasizing a diversified product portfolio. Collaborations with eBikeGo for electric vehicles like the MUVI 125 4G and the production of smart home appliances, including air purifiers, showcase Acer's holistic approach to cater to diverse consumer needs.

As per the IDC report, Acer stands as the fifth-largest PC company in India, boasting an 11.6% market share in Q3 2023. The company's position as a major player in the monitor segment further strengthens its presence in the country. Acer has not only focused on hardware but has also delved into conscious computing and environmental sustainability. The newly introduced Aspire Vero 16, labeled as Acer's first "carbon-neutral" product, incorporates eco-friendly elements like 60% post-consumer recycled plastic and ocean-bound plastic in the trackpad.

Acer's commitment to conscious computing is evident in its Vero products, designed to be repair-friendly. The company's Aspire Vero 16 is part of Acer's green initiative, aligning with the brand's ethos of promoting environmentally conscious technology. Furthermore, Acer is actively engaged in educational initiatives, partnering with select schools in the US to offer an eLearning repair program, showcasing its dedication to nurturing technological literacy.

With a strong foothold in the Indian market and a commitment to technological innovation and sustainability, Acer aims to continue its positive trajectory, bringing cutting-edge technology and eco-conscious products to the diverse consumer base in India.
