Zim Vs Ind: Zimbabwe stuns India by 2 runs in a thriller
Harare: Four runs needed in the last delivery with Indian skipper and match finisher MS Dhoni on strike, but Indians stunned as Zimbabwe bowler Neville Madziva discontinued Dhoni’s habit of finishing the games off in style, gifting them 2-run win against India in the first encounter of the three-match T20 series at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday night.
In a nail biting game, Manish Pandey (48), Axar Patel (18) and MS Dhoni (19*) tried their best to win the game but failed to execute the things correctly.
Previously, Jaydev Unadkat (0/43) and Rishi Dhawan (1/43) gave away too many runs, which helped Zimbabwe to script a huge total of 170 runs. Elton Chigumbura was the top-scorer for their side, who took just 26 balls to play a game changing knock of unbeaten 54 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah continued his brilliance by picking two important wickets.
Zimbabwe: 170/6 (Chigumbura 54 runs; Bumrah 4/24)
India: 168/6 (Manish Pandey 48; Chamu 2/13)
