We have always known the player and winner 'Yuvraj' of the Indian Cricket Team, one who always steals the show, weather on field or on ramp but not many of us are aware of his struggles of life.

Yuvraj's medal was thrown by his father:

  • Yuvraj was an ardent fan of tennis and roller skating.
  • He was so good at roller skating that he won the National U-14 Roller Skating Championship, but his father threw his National level medal and asked him to focus only on cricket.

  • Yuvi confessed that he loves acting but is not good at it.
  • Yuvraj Singh had actually worked as a child artiste in a Punjabi film. The scene he did for the film shows him running, and the surprising part is that it was directed by Yuvraj himself.
  • Yuvraj Singh has also done a Bollywood animated movie ‘Jumbo’. Yuvraj did voice over in the movie.
  • Upcoming animated feature film ‘Captain India’ features Yuvraj Singh as the lead protagonist.

Yuvraj and his Cancer fight:

  • Post ICC World Cup he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour stage-1 in his left lung and underwent chemotherapy treatment at the Cancer Research Institute in Boston, United States.
  • Yuvraj was discharged from hospital after completing the third and final cycle of chemotherapy and returned to India in April 2012.
  • Yuvraj Singh, after battling cancer, started his NGO YouWeCan.
  • He plans to help cancer patients in their treatment with his NGO.
  • After his battle with Cancer, Yuvi penned down his autobiography titled, The Test of My Life: From Cricket to Cancer and Back.
