Virender Sehwag: I enjoy watching my own batting

New Delhi: Virender Sehwag, speaking at an event, stated that he has admired several batsmen and he is one of them. He went on describing himself as his own favourite batsman.

The batsman, however, claims that he only believes in entertaining people with whatever he can do.

Watching the former cricketer bat was always a delight for everyone except the bowling unit of the opponents. He has carried his charisma to social sites like Twitter and Facebook and now the former flamboyant Indian opener entertains his followers with his witty posts.

Talking about the same, Sehwag said, "Social media provides you a platform that enables you to express your opinion and interact with your fans. I have always believed in one thing that is entertainment. Everyone already has a lot of tension in life. If you can bring smile on someone's face, why not. It is the best thing in life."

He also revealed why he chose to make witty tweets in place of simple ones like everyone else do.

"People make simple tweets. I thought of writing something that gets noticed by people. Recently I met actor Ranveer Singh and he said that he reads my tweets at midnight and jump in bed, laughing," the former opener said.

He mentioned that his kids still don't believe that he was such a popular cricketer that the 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar praised him.

"My kids also tell me, you are a rage. God (Sachin Tendulkar) has praised you. Were you really that good? Now when I have retired, I watch my own batting videos on YouTube and enjoy them. I also read my tweets in free time and enjoy. I have entertained people so much, I also have a right. I have admired a lot of cricketers and I am also one of them. I am my own favourite," he said.

Well, the cricketer is unarguably one of the most entertaining batsmen of all time who brought a drastic change to how every batsman used to approach a One Day International or Test match.
