US Open: Sania Mirza, Barbora Strycova pair enters quarter-finals

New York: Indian Tennis player Sania Mirza alongwith Barbora Strycova reached quarterfinals of the US Open beating American-Japanese duo Nicolo Gibbs and Nao Hibino in women’s doubles category on Tuesday.

Sania-Barbora pair defeated Nicolo and Nao Hibino by 6-4, 7-5.

The game lasted 32 minutes.

Sania and Barbora will play French pair Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic in the quarter-finals.

Earlier, Indian Tennis star Rohan Bopanna was thumped in the quarter-finals of mixed doubles. He had lost 6-1, 2-6, 8-10 to Canada’s Robert Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany.
