After USA's win over Pakistan, Afghanistan also scripted history by defeating New Zealand by 84 runs. Afghanistan batted first and scored 159 runs in 20 overs, after which the New Zealand team could score only 75 runs. Fazalhaq Farooqui and Rashid Khan together created history for Afghanistan. Both the bowlers broke the back of the Kiwi batsmen by bowling brilliantly. Rashid Khan did a great job and took 4 wickets, while Fazalhaq Farooqui also got 4 wickets. Apart from this, Mohammad Nabi was successful in taking 2 wickets. For the first time, Afghanistan has defeated New Zealand in the T20 World Cup. A match was played between the two teams in the 2022 T20 World Cup, which was won by New Zealand. But this time the Afghanistan team has made history by defeating the New Zealand team and made a big upset in the World Cup.

Earlier, Rahmanullah Gurbaz did charismatic batting for Afghanistan. Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 80 runs in 56 balls with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes, while Ibrahim Zadran scored 44 runs in 41 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Both of them had added 101 runs for the first wicket. On the other hand, Umarzai played an innings of 22 runs in 13 balls with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes and played an important role in taking the Afghanistan team to 159 runs.

Trent Boult and Matt Henry took 2-2 wickets for New Zealand:

Gurbaz alone scored 80 runs, while the entire New Zealand team could score only 75 runs. That is, Gurbaz's innings alone brought the Kiwi team to the doorstep of defeat.
