The favourite Indian prey of Pakistan's PM elect Imran Khan

Lucknow: Imran Khan is all set to take the chair of Pakistan Prime Minister in some time. The cricketer-turned-politician has travelled a long way from the dictatorial 'Kaptaan' (captain) of national Cricket side to the top post of the country.

Apart from his huge political surge in the recent years, he has some memorable moments from the Cricket ground as well. Being a top-class all-rounder and the former skipper of Pakistan Cricket team, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman achieved several milestones in his flamboyant 21-year-long career.

Apart from his on-field dominance with bat and ball, he was the most loved heartthrob of the subcontinent during 1970s and 1980s.

It is very obvious being a Pakistani cricketer, India was his favourite opponent. This interest helped him in setting a record which stayed alive for more than two decades and is still the second in the list of all time records tally.

Imran Khan had dismissed Dilip Vengsarkar seven times in succession between 1980 and 1983. He had surpassed the record of Charlie Turner of dismissing the same batsman in six consecutive Test innings.

The foundation of this record was laid in 1980 when Imran Khan dismissed Vengsarkar for 17 in the Chennai Test which India won by 10 wickets to take 2 -0 lead in the six Test series. Vengsarkar missed the next match in Kolkata.

Again in 1982-83 when India toured Pakistan, Imran dismissed Vengsarkar for 3, 0, 79, 6, 1 and 4 in six consecutive innings setting a new world record which stayed for 23 years and was finally broken by Aussie spin legend Shane Warne in 2006 when he dismissed Ashwell Prince for the eighth time in a row.

Vengsarkar, however, managed to end this continuation by playing an unbeaten 58-run inning in the second innings of the fourth Test. By the time, Pakistan had taken 3-0 lead in the series.

During his career, Imran dismissed Vengsarkar 12 times, which is more than Malcolm Marshall's record of dismissing him 10 times.
