The Indian cricket team has been quite impressive in the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan and victory in the final match of the three-match series gave them a big lead in the shortest format of the game.

The Rohit Sharma-led team has won the series by winning three matches and gave the cup a historic whitewash by winning the third T20 match in Bengaluru. Till now, both India and Pakistan had the joint highest number of bilateral series whitewashes (8) in T20I history but with the win in the third T20I on Wednesday, India's total will be 9. And it has become the first team to achieve this feat.

Captain Rohit (Rohit Sharma vs AFG) batted in the third and last match. Rohit (Rohit Sharma Century vs AFG) completed his century in 63 balls, which is his first T20 century after 111 runs against West Indies in Lucknow in 2018. Rohit also made his highest score in T20. Earlier, his highest score was 118 runs which he scored against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017. Winning this series before the World Cup in June is a special achievement for India.

Despite Rohit Sharma's unbeaten century, India reached the thrill of the second Super Over by defeating Afghanistan in the third and final T20 International and swept the three-match series 3-0. Captain Rohit Sharma, playing the role of a troubleshooter, scored an unbeaten century, with the help of which India recovered from the failure of the top order and scored 212 runs for four wickets.

In reply, Afghanistan scored 212 runs after losing six wickets in 20 overs due to the half-centuries of Rahmanullah Gurbaz (50), captain Ibrahim Zadran (50) and Gulbadin Naib (55 not out), which tied the score and the match reached the super over. Mukesh Kumar came to bowl in the first super over in which Afghanistan scored 16 runs for one wicket. India scored 16 runs after losing one wicket due to Rohit's two sixes and the score was again tied. After this the second super over was played. In this, Rohit retired on the fifth ball.

In the second super over, the Indian team scored 11 runs after losing two wickets in five balls with one six and one four from Rohit. In this, Rohit was run out and Farid Ahmed dismissed Rinku Singh. Ravi Bishnoi came out to bowl the second super and in his three balls, Afghanistan lost two wickets for one run due to which India won the match.
